Digital Health

Overview

Digital health, which includes digital care programs, is the convergence of digital technologies with health, healthcare, life, and society to improve healthcare delivery efficiency and make medicine more individualized and precise.

Moreover, mobile health (mHealth), health information technology (IT), wearable devices, telehealth and telemedicine, and personalized medicine are all examples of digital health.

Furthermore, digital technology has been driving a change in health care, from mobile medical apps and software that assist clinical decisions doctors make every day to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Digital health tools have enormous potential for improving our ability to effectively detect and treat disease, as well as improving individual health care delivery.

It’s worth to mention that digital health technologies make use of computing platforms, networking, software, and sensors. These technologies have a wide range of applications, ranging from general wellness to medical devices. They include technologies that are meant to be used as medical products, diagnostics, or as a supplement to other medical items.

Therefore, the program of digital health is designed to equip the student with the needed skills to enable them to shape the future of healthcare through contributing to the design, improvement and development of innovative healthcare technologies such as hospital information systems, mobile health, and business intelligence applications.
