This course provides an introduction to the theory and practice of corporate finance. Topics covered include the cost of capital, capital budgeting decisions, the tradeoff in the choice of an optimal capital structure, the role of capital structure in competitive strategy, the relationship between risk and return, the corporate financing decision-making process, the use of debt, bankruptcy and financial distress and corporate valuation. Special emphasis will be relating principles and practice of finance to the financing decisions of enterprises.
