This course studies the different types of courts, namely, regular courts including courts of first instance (magistrate courts), courts of second instance, courts of cassation and courts of Islamic law and sectarian councils; special courts: judges, judges’ rulings and their assistants (notaries, bailiff, interpreters, experts, religious attorneys, etc.). Special courts are also responsible for the selection of judges, their competencies and jurisdictions in accordance with Islamic law, the panel and its responsibilities, chief judge and his responsibilities, judges’ job description, irremovability of judges, judges’ selection and dismissal, impartiality (neutrality) of the judge, the denial of the judge, recusal of a judge, the transfer of the case to another court; the merits of the litigation: the proceedings, the procedures of the case, its terms and conditions, status, types, evidence in the case, means of evidence, proceedings, and challenges against judgments.
