This course provides students with a clear and logical presentation of the basic concepts and principles of physics that are relevant to the medical field. The main topics include: velocity and acceleration, Newton's laws of motion, statistical equilibrium, work and energy, temperature and behaviour of gases, the first law of thermodynamics, thermal properties of matter, mechanics of non-viscous fluids, mirrors, lenses and the human eye. In addition to radioactivity; interaction of radiation with matter, radiation units, harmful effects of radiation and applications of radiation in medicine.
