The course provides an introduction to mechanisms of immunity in man and animals. General properties of immune responses; cells and tissues of the immune system; lymphocyte activation and specificity; effector mechanisms; immunity to microbes; immunodeficiency and AIDS; auto immune diseases; transplantation will be introduced. Emphasis on interactions between cells of the immune system in production of immune responses and the molecules in control of these interactions.
