Tissue engineering has been defined as the application of the principles of life sciences and engineering in developing biological substitutes for the maintenance, modification, improvement, restoration, or replacement of tissue or organ function. This course is intended to give students first hand theoretical and practical knowledge in tissue engineering and basic techniques involved in tissue engineering. Emphasis on production and testing of biocompatibility and cell cultivation on the biomaterial.
