151106100 FOUNDATIONS OF EMERGENCY NURSING ( 3 Crd.Hrs )

Emergency nursing practice is characterised by a diversity of clinical presentations which range from those requiring minimal care to those with complex or life-threatening clinical presentations or injury. This variation in clinical presentation requires emergency nurses to have a strong foundation in patient assessment and associated physiological knowledgeo critically evaluate the practice of trauma nursing and examine the nurse's role in the pre-hospital setting and to develop and evaluate specialist nursing skills that enable the student to rapidly assess and provide the appropriate nursing interventions for the trauma patient.
