The course examines the role of digital research and provides an overview of commonly used qualitative and quantitative research methods. Topics covered include the changing social science data landscape, new sources of data, challenges and opportunities in survey methods, advances in data management for research, modeling and simulation, developments in statistical software for researchers, text mining and social media, digital records, social network analysis and ethics in digital research.
