The course seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, in terms of an expanded presentation of each of these two branches of the public international law. In addition, it highlights the most prominent rights for the target groups for each of these two branches, as well as the differences and similarities in their scope and target groups, while focusing on their legal environment and framework. The course also covers some detailed and problematic issues, whether related to human rights or international humanitarian law, and clarifies the different positions around them. The course also discusses many of the rules in the field of human rights that emerged during the dialogue that transcends geographical, legal and cultural boundaries between various bodies and international human rights courts, with a focus on the sources and principles of these rights and their protection mechanisms.
