This course covers the fundamentals of rehabilitation nursing, aligning with the International Classification of Functioning and Disability (ICF). This course helps students to explore how rehabilitation, or restorative care, promotes independence for individuals with various disabilities and chronic conditions. It highlights the importance of rehabilitation nursing within an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and the crucial contribution of nurses' interventions in the management of various conditions. Topics include patient self-care, and activities of daily living, adaptive devices, preventive measures, range-of-motion exercises (ROM), and strategies for mobility and ambulation. The course also addresses the psychosocial goals of rehabilitation and restorative care.
