This course will provide a solid basic knowledge of microbiology and immunology. Students will become aware of various branches of microbiology and the role of microbes in human diseases. It also provides knowledge about infection control mechanisms. The course will cover the mechanisms by which microorganisms invade human body and how human body respond to these invading microorganisms. It also provides opportunities to develop informatics and diagnostic skills, including the use and interpretation of laboratory tests in the identification of certain pathogenic microorganisms.
