The purpose of this course is to introduce investigative journalism, its pillars, role and method of work in particular, the objectives of investigative journalism in general, and to clarify the difference between investigative journalism and traditional journalism, while focusing on the ethics of investigative journalism and the importance of adhering to the highest levels of sincerity, integrity and accuracy in capturing information, transmitting it and then publishing it. Since this type of journalistic work is the best way to reach the heart of the truth and get out of the circle of doubt and programmed influence, the course gives the student the opportunity to apply investigative journalism based on documenting information and facts by following a systematic and objective method in pursuing news in order to uncover the truth and bring about change for the public benefit.
