The Arab American University is looking to hire a “Database Administrator” to work at its Programming and Systems Analysis Department. According to these qualifications:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Holds a Bachelor degree (Computer Science, Information Technology) or a related specialization with a minimum of Very Good rating
- Minimum of three years in database administrating and database programming
- Took training in MSSQL and Oracle databases modeling
- Holds local and international certified certificates in Database Administration, UNIX Administration, and Windows Administration
- Extensive experience in MSSQL Server Administration, Oracle Database Administration
- Experience in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports
- Knowledge of Windows 2012 Administration, UNIX OS Administration
- Knowledge of various programming languages; .Net, PHP, Java, Oracle
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and conversations
Main tasks:
- Preparing the programs to integrate with other programs
- Install, prepare, upgrade, manage, monitor and maintain databases, develop and design database strategies, monitoring the system status, and improve the database performance and capacity
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement solutions to facilitate the availability of the database according to the criteria set by the relevant normative policies
- Periodic maintenance of the databases and its servers
- Capable of understanding the code for any scripts that deal with databases such as ASP.net, PHP, Oracle forms and report
- Ensures protection for processed, stored or in-use information
- Determine the users and the accessibility levels they got for each part of the databases
- Database supervision, database development, and database modeling and designing
- Supervising database techniques and backup and retrieval methods
- Improving and adjust database performance
- Any other assigned tasks
