AAUP Announces the Start of a New Bachelors Program in Prosthetics and Orthotics Sciences at Faculty of Allied Medical Science, accredit from both Ministries of Education and Health, in addition to the accreditation of the International Organization for Prosthetics and Orthotics Sciences, to be the first program of its kind in Palestine that aims to graduate professionals titled as Senior Specialist.
AAUP Announces the Start of a New Bachelors Program in Prosthetics and Orthotics Sciences to be the first of its kind in Palestine
This program enables its graduates to diagnose the needs of prostheses and orthotics, and to engineer these organs according to each case, based on the knowledge and understanding of the principles of mechanical motion, human body surgery, engineering technology drawings, the designing electronic robotics and manufacturing them in factories, laboratories and clinics provided by the University in order to train the students, and welcoming patients with upper and lower amputations, patients with musculoskeletal disorders, fractures, bone malformations, paralysis of the central nervous system and its impairments. As this program will also work on assuring the patients’ health and practical rehabilitation and proper integration in the society. Furthermore, these centers and clinics at the university will lower and save high financial costs for the patients, in addition to avoiding the inconvenience of traveling abroad.
This program will be taught by using the latest technology in education, also studying the correct patterns of individual learning for students, and applying scientific research during the educational process, in order to achieve outstanding outputs to accompany the industrial development in the society and its needs.
Due to the lack of specialists in this field of those holding university degrees, it will provide high opportunities for graduates to work in the local and Arab market.
