AAUP Holds a Training Workshop for Nurses on Using Ventilators

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University organized a workshop targeting nurses working in intensive care units at governmental hospitals and master’s students in nursing specialties at the University to train them on using the ventilator in an ideal way to prevent the development of complications for patients.

The workshop was moderated by Dr. Dina Abu Jaber, a specialist in the field of intensive care and artificial respiration. Dr. Abu Jaber introduced the students to the device, its operation, and the common errors that happen when using it.

In his turn, Dr. Emad Abu Khader, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University, said that the university is keen to organize training and educational workshops to train postgraduate students in various nursing specialties offered by the university, in addition to nurses working in hospitals to enhance their capabilities and develop their skills in terms of using modern devices.

The participants showed great interaction and emphasized the importance of such trainings in enhancing the efficiency of the medical staff, especially those working in the emergency and intensive care units, which reflects positively on the health of patients and society.
