Arab American University hosted the conclusion of a course about “Arbitration and Laws Study of Squash” in its sport facilities that was organized by the Palestinian Federation of Racquet Games under collaboration with Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA)- Ramallah and Jerusalem’s Sport Federations Group.
The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Palestinian Federation of Racquet Games and the lecturer in the Faculty of Sport Sciences in AAUP, Mr. Uday Daraghmeh, Mr. Yousef Fathia- the Head of the Sport Programs in YMCA and a member of the executive office of Jerusalem’s Sport Federations Group, Mr. Fredo Hazo- a Palestinian Squash Arbitration Expert, and Mr. Fathi Shqair- a Member of the Squash Committee in the Palestinian Federation of Racquet Games. And many Squash players and trainers participated in the course from all over the West Bank.
Mr. Uday Daraghmeh- the Head of the Palestinian Federation of Racquet Games said that concluding this course is a completion of the meetings that started months ago through ZOOM, followed by the theoretical lectures and practical trainings. Now this course will be concluded in the sport facilities in AAUP where many activities and friendly Squash games were organized among the last championship in Ramallah.
Mr. Daraghmeh added that many friendly games were organized in the Squash field in Arab American University, a field that was established according to international specifications. He also explained that AAUP always seeks to support all kinds of Palestinian sports and praised the role that the university does while hosting local and international championships.
Mr. Daraghmeh thanked everyone who contributed in the success of this course that resulted to graduate some Squash Palestinian Referees who are fully prepared and ready to arbitrate in local and international championships.
Mr. Yousef Fathia- the Head of the Sport Programs in YMCA and a member of the Executive Office of Jerusalem’s Sport Federations Group ensured the deep relationship between the Palestinian Federation and Jerusalem’s Sport Federations Group especially concerning the joint activities since the beginning of 2020. He also expressed his pride in the sport facilities in AAUP and praised its role in supporting the Palestinian sports.
At the end of the course, the Palestinian Federation of Racquet Games, Jerusalem’s Sport Federations Group and YMCA honored the participants of this course and the organizers including Arab American University that hosted the conclusion of the course. Winners of the friendly games were handed their trophies and trainers were gifted Squash rackets.
