A group of third-year students from the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University participated in the 2024 Summer School held at the University of Dundee, UK. This summer school is usually held annually, with the aim of refining and building distinguished experiences for medical students at this important stage.
This year, the students were accompanied by the Assistant to the dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University, Dr. Ramez Zaid, to supervise the students. He explained that this stage is the beginning of the students’ transition from the theoretical stage to the practical clinical stage. Dr. Ramez also stressed that the students’ participation in the summer school embodies the academic exchange of students and faculty members between the Arab American University and the University of Dundee.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University, Dr. Malik Zaben, stressed the importance of the summer school. He noted that this is the first of the summer courses that will be held this year, while a second group of students is preparing to travel to Oxford University, as well as another group to the University of Glasgow this summer. Dr. Zaben indicated that these summer courses come within the strategy of the AAUP Faculty of Medicine to prepare students for internationalization and keeping pace with the most recent aspects of medicine.
