Arab American University received Mr. Rami Awad- the Representative of the QS World University Rankings for MENA as in his reception were Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President, Dr. Adli Saleh- the Board Advisor for Planning and Development, Dr. Muayad Abusaa- the VP for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, Eng, Muhannad Hijawi- the Director General for Spark Company for Consulting Services, and Dr. Sami Sader- the Assistant to the Vice President for Planning and Development.
During the meeting, Mr. Awwad presented the most important aspects of the QS ranking that are considered in the Arab area and that are used in the world classification. He also explained the most important aspects that Arab American University can focus on in Palestine to excel and improve its ranking. Mr. Awwad also praised the level of Arab American University in its both campuses in Jenin and Ramallah and the expanding in the graduate studies and medical and scientific programs. Moreover, he stressed on the importance of making this development part in the annual evaluation to benefit from the services of the organization of the ranking as it works on helping the university to focus on its strengths.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Abu Zuhri thanked Mr. Awwad for his visit and efforts and ensured that AAUP is keen to benefit from the feedback from Mr. Awwad and that AAUP attaches importance to the QS World University Rankings as it is one of the most important classifications that reflects the academic and scientific levels of the world universities and the universities in the region. In addition, Dr. Adli Saleh emphasized that the university considers the world rankings including QS ranking as a mean to globalism through focusing on the education quality and scientific research, and to enhance its role on the academic and scientific arena.
