Arab American University got the first place in “Reshmawi Award- the Dean of the Laboratory Medicine” as the best scientific research in the 11th Palestinian International Conference in Laboratory Medicine that was held in the Red Crescent building in Ramallah.
The conference was organized and held through Zoom and only the Laboratory Medicine Syndicate Council and the Scientific Committee who discussed the lecturers and evaluated their researches were presented in person in the location of the conference.
During the conference, the head of the conference Dr. Osama Najjar- the President of the Syndicate announced the awards of the 11th Palestinian International Conference in Laboratory Medicine which is the Reshmawi Award that was divided into three levels.
Arab American University won the first place in the research that was prepared and presented by Dr. Nowar Qotob and her colleagues under the title “genomic epidemiology of the first epidemic wave of sever acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (sar-cov-2) in Palestine”
Dr. Dalya AbuHilal form Al Quds University won the second place with her research entitled: “Microsatellite instability and mismatch repair genes variation testing for the identification of lynch syndrome among Palestinian colorectal cancer patients”
On the third place comes Dr. Hadeer Abu Wardeh from Islamic University in Gaza for her research entitled: “investigating aneuploidy – inducing effect of nemacur, rogor, and dursban in human peripheral blood lymphocyte cultures”
In addition to the award of the best scientific poster that was awarded to the researcher Dr. Haneen Noor entitled: “hematology finding and abnormalities among patient with covid-19 admitted to Al Ahli hospital in Hebron government Palestine”
Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- AAUP President congratulated Dr. Nowar Qotob for winning the first place award and emphasized how Arab American University always seeks to develop the scientific research and encourage and support academic and students to conduct researches and this is one of the missions of AAUP.
