A delegation from the Arab American University visited the Director General of the Palestinian Police, Major General Allam Al Saqqa, to discuss ways of cooperation in developing scientific skills and knowledge to confront contemporary security challenges with the Palestinian Police, in a step aimed at enhancing the University's vision in working and cooperating with all national institutions.
The University delegation was headed by the founding Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Yousef Asfour, the Acting President of the University, Dr. Bara Asfour, the General Manager of the University Company, Mr. Faleh Abu Arra, the Vice President of the University for the Ramallah Campus, Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, and a number of members of the University's Board of Directors.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Director General of the Police, Major General Allam Al Saqqa, welcomed the guest delegation and stressed the importance of the partnership between the two institutions, to reach the possibility of implementing a number of academic and scientific programs that aim to develop the police staffs and increase scientific knowledge in accordance with global academic and professional development. He praised the role of the Arab American University in science and cognitive development and keeping pace with everything new, which constitutes a basic pillar for developing the capabilities of security personnel and improving their performance.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab American University, Dr. Yousef Asfour, stressed the University's commitment to supporting national institutions and the local community in various fields, especially academic and scientific, as well as encouraging scientific research, reaching the highest levels, through Palestinian youth and staffs. Dr, Yousef Asfour praised the role of the Palestinian police in enhancing security and safety for Palestinian citizens, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two institutions.
In turn, the Acting President of the University, Dr. Bara Asfour, stressed that the University always seeks to strengthen its relationship with the security institution to preserve stability and security in society, which is reflected on students. Dr. Bara Asfour pointed out that AAUP has recently cooperated with the police to enhance the presence of police stations in the University area on the Jenin campus to create security and safety for the University community.
