The Vice President of the Arab American University for the Ramallah Campus, Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, has received a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Palestine Office, which visited the University to consolidate relations, enhance cooperation between the two parties, and know about the services provided by the University through the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory as well as the medical and health centers.
The visiting delegation included Professor Franz Joseph from the American MIT Foundation, and Hakam Al-Taweel and Firas Farsakh, representatives of JICA. The reception was attended by Mr. Mustafa Irshaid, Director of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory at the University, and Mr. Walid Abu Samra, Technical Director of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory.
The visit aimed to review the facilities of the Arab American University, especially the Prosthetic and Orthotics Factory, and know about the services provided by these centers, in addition to the infrastructure for the possibility of establishing partnerships and contracts for rehabilitation and manufacturing devices to serve the Palestinian people.
Professor Dr. Asia welcomed the guest delegation and gave a detailed explanation about the University, its establishment and the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory and the services it provides with advanced scientific capabilities. Also, he pointed out that the Factory is one of the distinguished factories in the Middle East. Moreover, he gave an explanation about the medical and health services provided by the University through the University Medical Rehabilitation Complex. He stressed that the University Centers, in addition to providing their services to the Palestinian public, provide an educational environment for their students in the University Medical Faculties.
