Jenin Governor Discusses the Needs of Student Housings Surrounding Campus

Arab American University hosted a meeting by the governor of Jenin and member of the university board of trustees Major-General Ibrahim Ramadan with the owners of the students’ housings that surrounds the campus to discuss the needs for developing the region and the problems and challenges facing the process.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs at the University Dr. Abdullah Walwil, Director of Preventive Security in Jenin Colonel Muhanad Abu Ali, the provincial police Chief Colonel Muhanad Sawan, Deputy Commander of National Security in Jenin Colonel Jamal Abu Al-Ezz, representatives of official institutions and the Student Union Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, Maj. Gen. Ramadan said “Today we’re meeting at the Arab American University campus, this leading university has become a national, scientific, cultural and economic asset in Palestine in general and Jenin in particular”. He added “the university belongs to the Palestinian people and its students who are eager for knowledge, to graduate our future leaders and civilization makers”.

He praised the efforts of the areas security to achieve the rule of law, security and safety in the university surrounding, and greeted the students' housing owners on their national role in investing in the region, reviving the economy, providing the best services to university students and helping in many issues.

During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Ramadan listened to the residences owners’ necessary needs to preserve the economic achievements around the campus from student residences, cafes, restaurants, libraries and educational centers. Also they reviewed the problems facing them and the importance of developing the infrastructure in the area;​streets, sidewalks, water and electricity lines and others.

The students’ residences owns called to increase the Palestinian security and traffic police presence around the university and housings, to maintain the security of the regions students, residents and employees and prevent any illegal act.
