As part of their graduation project, Sabreen Sawafta and Dina Sulieman students in the Arabic Language and Media Department in the Faculty of Arts in AAUP organized a photo fair.
Students Sawafta and Sulieman said that their graduation project that was supervised by Mr. Sudqi Mousa- the lecturer in the Arabic Language and Media Department is about taking pictures of the old places in Jenin and Nablus and how these places were used for different projects.
They said that the places they focused on were “Shathaya Theater” and “Bayt Zaman” and how the old houses were transferred into projects. They also showed a life of an old lady who renovated an old house to make it a place to live in, all this was through pictures. In addition the students also presented how an old man has transferred one of the old houses to a store to sell charcoal.
Sawafta and Sulieman added that the goal of this fair is to highlight the old places and encourage citizens to renovate them and change them to a entrepreneurial, economic and social projects.
Mr. Sudqi Mousa- the two students’ supervisor said that “the fair will be a fruit to many study years, and we try to combine theory and practice, and to participate the local community through the interaction with our projects”. Mr. Mousa added that AAUP supports such kind of activities for students.
