University Cardiac, Breathing Resuscitation Center Gets International Accreditation Certificate from American Heart Association

AAU’s Heart and Breathing Resuscitation Center first center in northern Palestine to get the international accreditation certificate from the American Heart Association. Recently, AAUP upgraded the center to provide everything advanced in the fields of higher education, academic programs and international education tools.

University President Dr. Ali Abu Zuhri congratulated this accomplishment, saying: “For AAUP Cardiac and Breathing Resuscitation Center to get this international accreditation certificate is one more step towards excellency that we’re familiarized as it’s our academic journey logo. Also it’s a chance to apply international methods and concepts for students to prepare them properly for local and international work market. Moreover, the center can improve the skills of health workers, staffs in Palestinian Medical centers and hospitals through training and rehabilitation courses by the Center”

He presided, the center cost more than 500.000 Shekels, it was totally funded by the university Board of Directors. The center contains 5 training air conditioned rooms along with everything a student might need from infrastructure to education and proper training according to international standards and specifications. Adding that the training tools consists of laptops, “Patients Models”, advanced show screens and electronical medical devices to evaluate students work during training on C.P.R.

As for the Dean of both Nursing and Supporting Medical Sciences Dr. Mohammad Asia he said: “Developing the center to get the international credential is a global requirement for a nurse to assure making their effort and accomplish their tasks the best way they could and in effective way in emergences whither in a clinic or on field, because a nurse must hold a certified practicing certificate as a requirement to work”.

He added, nurses can stand out professionally if they were ready to face any special emergencies in CPR they must have certified training certificate in the field, that is the reason to establish this center with the American Heart Association (AHA) credential certificate.

Dr. Asia pointed that the university managed with its academic, financial and administrative efforts to fulfill everything needed to assure getting its credential certificate from AHA. A staff of 16 have multiple extensive trainings abroad to be ready for working in the center and an AHA delegation came to make sure everything is working at the best possible way by following international CPR standards, in addition to equipped the center with the best training machines.

He pointed, scientific researches showed that training a medical staff properly have a great positive impact on the patients’ lives this is why efforts combined to develop a training based on extensive scientific research to come out with the best possible way to apply CPR for critical patients’ situation so they don’t end up with a brain damage. The center will train the nursing students along with medical and nursing staffs in Palestinian hospitals and health centers to improve their skills and award them with certificates from AHA.

He stressed that the Arab American University Heart and Breathing Resuscitation Center will award 4 types of certificates; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, advanced cardiac and breathing resuscitation for adults, advanced CPR for children all three of them are for medical and health staffs and the forth is CPR for local community.

Dr. Asia pointed that the official opening ceremony for the center will be soon, to introduce the new center for the public and relevant institutions in order to proceed the centers trainings.
