The rewarding took place with the presence of the Vice President for Medical Faculties Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Muayad Abusaa, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs Eng. Bara Asfour, the Advisor to the University Board of Directors for Planning and Development Dr. Adli Saleh, Dean of Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Hazem Khanfar, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Mohammad Jaradat, Former Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Amid Abu Ali, the Syndicate of Engineers, the Syndicate of Dentists, the Syndicate of Physicians, representatives of the partner MAC company, and members of the academic and administrative staff.

In the inaugurating speech delivered by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, on behalf of the university president, Prof. Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, he welcomed the attendees and said, “There is no doubt that teamwork and respect for energies are among the most important basics of success for any institution. In the University of All Palestinians, this saying is applied literally”.

He explained that over the course of two continuous years, the two work teams made every effort in order to reach this level and obtain two important international academic accreditations, which are the international academic accreditation ADEE SCHOOL VISIT, for the Faculty of Dentistry, and the international academic accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Engineering and Technology for the specialization of Computer Systems Engineering for the Faculty of Engineering. He thanked the University Board of Directors for employing and facilitating all logistical and technical procedures in order to achieve the desired goal.

Dr. Muayad Abusaa pointed out that the ADEE accreditation will make the Faculty of Dentistry conform in its specifications to international standards in teaching students, the efficiency of modern laboratories, the infection control system, and the high feasibility of serving its students, in addition to obtaining ADEE Leader accreditation in the coming very near period.

He added that the ABET academic accreditation, which is concerned with evaluating engineering, technology, and applied sciences worldwide, was deservedly obtained by the Computer Systems Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering at the Arab American University after an evaluation and review process of the outputs of the program, curricula, faculty members’ competence, the level of students, material and human capabilities, and the work provided by the university to the program and the local community, as well as ensuring mechanisms for continuous development of the quality of education will constitute a qualitative leap in the field of Computer Systems Engineering.

In addition, Dr. Muayad Abusaa emphasized that the university started about a year ago, and is still in progress, in order to obtain international accreditation for the WEME human program. He indicated that at the beginning of the academic year, the university will take the first steps to obtain international accreditation for Pharmacy, Nursing, and Prosthetics Programs.

For his part, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Eng. Bara Asfour, conveyed the greetings of the founding Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Dr. Yousef Asfour, who did not hesitate for a moment in performing his pioneering role in order to achieve and provide all means of support for the development of the university of all Palestinians. He explained the extent of effort and fatigue that has been exerted since its foundation until the university has been embodied in its beautiful image in our current time. All this is thanks to every member of the Arab American University family. He emphasized that this development and prosperity does not take place without the existence of a wise administration that is always interested in introducing every new thing that benefits the students.

He pointed out the importance of the university obtaining the two international accreditations, which constitute an important and qualitative leap for the university. The Faculty of Dentistry is the strongest among the universities of the country and the Faculty of Engineering graduates qualified engineers. He indicated that if they had not met the necessary specifications, standards, and conditions, they would not have obtained this accreditation. He congratulated the two Faculties in particular and the university in general on the two accreditations.

For his part, Dr. Naser Hamad presented a report on ABET accreditation. He explained that the university's obtaining this accreditation constitutes a strong presence and challenge and alignment of the Arab American University at the local, Arab, and international levels. It is also a guarantee of the quality of the content and the integrity of the approach and construction. He indicated that this international accreditation for the computer systems program represents the lever force in terms of the quality of education, the safety of empowerment for our graduates, a reliable and smooth passage to the Palestinian, Arab, and international labor market, in addition to a distinguished level of academic performance. It also enhances parents' confidence in the quality of the program and their endeavor to enroll their children in it.

Dr. Hamad presented a detailed report on all aspects and departments that serve the academic process of the computer systems engineering program reviewed and examined by the International Committee of ABET. He thanked the university administration for what it had done, appreciating the role of the work team and faculty members, especially in the Faculty of Engineering.

In turn, Dr. Amid Abu Ali presented a report on ADEE accreditation. He said that the Faculty of Dentistry has obtained the most prestigious academic accreditations. The Faculty is included in the university of all Palestinians. Its name is on the official list of ADEE, which includes a limited number of dental faculties. He added that our faculty could obtain this by obtaining the accreditation, which opened the doors for academic, research, and student exchange and the exchange of experiences between the university and the faculties of dentistry globally and enhanced the already excellent academic reputation of the faculty graduates because of its improvement of job opportunities and overcoming many of the obstacles that face any graduate in his/her quest to obtain admission to postgraduate programs in international universities.

He thanked each of the Board of Directors, the university presidency, vice presidents, assistants, faculty members, members of the work team for accreditation, and everyone who contributed to the success of the project, all of whom made efforts and put all their capabilities and time to complete this project.

In a speech of MAC Partner Company delivered by both Dr. Nibal Sabri and Eng. Yasmine Abu Baker, they thanked the Arab American University, which worked very hard to obtain the two accreditations. They pointed out that three aspects distinguished the university, including hard work, joint effort, and determination to achieve the goal, hoping that all the goals sought by the university will be achieved.
