The University hosted the regular meeting of the Council of Student Affairs Deans in the Palestinian Universities. In meeting they discussed the latest developments and joint activities between universities in the presence of a delegation from the Palestinian police.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Board of Student Affairs Deans of its current session, Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh Dean of Student Affairs at Arab American University, welcoming the audience. As he pointed out that many topics will be discussed, the most important of which are the joint activities for the academic year 2018/2019, the latest developments with the Ministry of Education regarding the Lending Fund, following-up regarding the unified constitution of the Student Union Council and discuss the cooperation initiative between the Palestinian police and universities. Periodically to be a bimonthly meeting, as the participants recommended that the meetings is to be held on a regular basis, every two months.
They also discussed the initiative signed between Birzeit University and the police, the cooperation between universities and the police force, which aims to involve students in improving the traffic situation and raise their awareness of traffic laws. A committee was formed to formulate a cooperation initiative between universities and police in order to present it the Deans Council.
