The Faculty of Data Science at the Arab American University held a workshop via Zoom platform entitled: "Employing Artificial Intelligence to Serve Business Facilities", organized by the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
Mr. Ayman Al-Mimi, the Director of the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center, inaugurated the workshop, which was attended by representatives of fifty Palestinian companies, stressing the importance of holding meetings that aim to provide business owners with the necessary knowledge for technological developments affecting the labor market. Mr. Ayman appreciated the cooperation of the Arab American University in organizing the meeting to help and educate company owners in terms of keeping pace with the trends and rapid technological developments necessary to achieve the competitive advantage.
For his turn, Dr. Ahmed Hasasneh, the Director of Data Science Department at the Arab American University and a specialist in artificial intelligence and machine learning, stressed the importance of workshops in highlighting important topics such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to contribute to keep the owners of Palestinian companies in pace with the rapid technological developments, especially in light of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Dr. Hasasneh said: "The Arab American University pays great attention to such topics and to the modern majors, as it recently opened the Faculty of Data Science, which includes specializations of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at different levels."
During the workshop, Dr. Hasasneh presented a comprehensive explanation of the big data that is currently available in light of the rapid digital transformation, and its importance in making decisions based on facts, especially in the business sector. The second part of the workshop focused on the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in serving business facilities as a significant strategic dimension for companies. Dr. Hasasneh touched upon many practical applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning within business facilities, explaining the benefits of using them in the future.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Hasasneh presented a number of recommendations and advice to company owners on how to benefit from artificial intelligence techniques in business. He also answered questions raised by representatives of companies and businessmen who attended the workshop.
