Conclusion of a Training Program on Active Citizenship Targeting AAUP Students

The Arab American University and the Palestinian Bible Society concluded a training program on active citizenship that extended over 36 training hours distributed over 6 days. This training aimed to develop the skills of participating university students and promote the values ​​of active citizenship in society.

The training course addressed a set of vital topics related to citizenship, leadership, teamwork, and building community initiatives. The program included several field visits to a number of archaeological and tourist sites in the Jenin Governorate.

Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and the Medical Imaging Association Discuss Student Training and the Professional Practice Test

The Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at the Arab American University discussed with the Palestinian Medical Imaging Association the training of specialization students and the mechanisms for submitting the professional practice test.

This came during a meeting attended by Prof. Dr. Hazem Khanfar, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Amro, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Mr. Mohammad Abd Al Ghani, President of the Palestinian Medical Imaging Association, and Mr. Mohammad Taha, Head of the Northern Branch.

During the meeting, the means and mechanisms of practical training for students specializing in medical imaging were discussed, as well as coordination with the Association in this regard, in addition to the professional practice test for medical imaging in Palestine.

An AAUP Delegation Visits Jericho Governorate to Discuss Joint Cooperation

A delegation from the Arab American University, represented by the Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, and the Director of Public Relations, Mr. Firas Saifi, visited Jericho and the Jordan Valley Governorate to enhance cooperation with several government institutions.

The delegation met with the Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hossein Hamayel, to know about the most prominent prospects for joint cooperation that can be worked on to enhance teamwork between the governorate and the University, on the research, cultural and community levels, as well as in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science.

Students from the Arab American University Visit the Forensic Laboratory Departments in the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department

A delegation from the Forensic Biology Department at the Faculty of Science at the Arab American University visited the forensic laboratory departments in the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department of the Palestinian Police in the city of Ramallah to know about these departments and the roles they play.

The delegation included a number of students from the department, accompanied by Dr. Firas Al Batta, Head of the Forensic Biology Department at the University, and Dr. Saber Al Aloul, a lecturer in the Forensic Medicine course. They were received by the Director of the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department, Brigadier Engineer Najeh Samara, and the department directors in the department.

The AAUP Faculty of Pharmacy Participates in an International Scientific Conference Held in Jordan

The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Arab American University participated in the Ninth International Scientific Conference of Faculties of Pharmacy, held at Al Zaytona University in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The University was represented at the conference by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor Hatem Hijaz, who gave a lecture titled "The Effect of the Aqueous Extract of Sumac on Blood Clotting". He also chaired the first session of the second day of the conference, and in his lecture he discussed the growing interest in natural anticoagulant compounds as potential therapeutic alternatives.

Arab American University Launches PhDGov Project to Develop Governance of Doctoral Programs in Palestine

In a qualitative step to enhance scientific research and develop higher education in Palestine, the Arab American University, in partnership with a number of Palestinian and European universities as well as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, launched a project to develop governance of doctoral programs in Palestinian universities. The events of the project were launched today, Monday, with a three-day workshop at the Technical University of Aachen in Germany.

This three-year project comes within the Erasmus Plus program offered by the European Union, which aims to enhance governance of doctoral programs in Palestinian universities, enhance research cooperation between Palestinian and European universities, and encourage partnership between the academic and industrial sectors.

The Arab American University Pays a Visit to Talfit Village Council

The AAUP Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, has visited Talfit Village Council. She was received by the Chairman of the Council, Fadi Irshaid, to discuss community affairs related to the university area, and ways to cooperate in providing services, especially with the advent of the new semester. This visit took place with the presence of the Deputy of the University Police Station, Major Mahmoud Ataya, and Moataz Abu Al-Haija.

In turn, the Chairman of the Talfit Village Council, Fadi Irshaid, welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance of cooperation by all parties in order to continue the educational process successfully and safely, in addition to implementing many community activities with the University through students. He expressed the Council's readiness to make any event a success.

AAUP Holds the First Programming Competition Titled "Let's Code with AAUP"

The Faculties of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University has held the first programming competition under the title "Let's Code with AAUP", with the aim of enhancing students' skills in the fields of programming and problem solving.

This competition is part of the University's vision to prepare qualified students with high skills that are in line with the requirements of the labor market, as well as to enhance their participation in local and international competitions.

More than 25 students from the two Faculties participated in the competition, competing to solve various questions, creating an atmosphere of positive competition among the participants.

Clinical Training Program for AAUP Medical Students Starts at the Istishari Hospital in Jordan

The clinical training program for medical students of the Arab American University has been launched. Thus, fifth-year medical students joined various medical wards at the Istishari Hospital in Jordan.

The first days of training included orientation lectures and introductory tours to help students understand medical procedures and work mechanisms within the hospital.

This training comes within the framework of the cooperation and training agreements signed between AAUP and the Istishari Hospital in Jordan, where the supervising doctors at the Istishari Hospital expressed their admiration for the level of medical students of the Arab American University, both in terms of academic achievement and interaction with medical staff.

The Arab American University Visits Schools in Hebron and Bethlehem

The Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at the Arab American University, Dr. Mohammad Amro, has visited three schools in Hebron and Bethlehem, based on activating the role of meetings with the local community.

Dr. Amro visited the Good Shepherd Swedish School in Bethlehem, Majed Abu Sharar Secondary School for Boys and Al-Majd Secondary School for Boys in Hebron.

The visit aims to encourage high school students to continue their efforts to achieve excellence in high school exams, the mechanism for choosing a major, and to introduce students to the majors at the Arab American University in its two campuses in Jenin and Ramallah. Dr. Amro then distributed gifts to students and teachers in the three schools.
