The AAUP Department of Optometry Obtains the World Council of Optometry (WCO) Membership

The Arab American University has recently obtained membership in the World Council of Optometry (WCO) in an important step towards strengthening its global presence and contribution to the field of optometry.

This achievement reflects the University’s continued commitment to promoting active participation in developing skills and standards of education and scientific research for the optometry profession at the local and international levels. This membership also represents international recognition that reflects the quality of the University’s educational and research programs.

AAUP Graduate Students Participate in the Round Table Organized by the European Union Delegation to Support the Palestinian Police EUPOL COPPS

A group of female students from the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University participated in the round table organized by the European Union delegation to support the Palestinian police, EUPOL COPPS, under the title “Inspiring Inclusion” on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Hala Khreisat Haj Hassan, a student in the Ph.D. program in conflict resolution, Rasha Al Soqi, a student in the Ph.D. program in international relations, and Mimas Sulaiman, a student in the master’s program in international relations have participated in the event. This event focused on the role of women in institutional affairs and state building. The female students of AAUP participated in discussing this important topic from an academic and practical perspective.

The Arab American University Holds a Training Workshop for Academicians to Raise the Level of Academic Quality

The Arab American University has held an intensive training workshop on its Ramallah campus titled: “Quality in Teaching and Learning”.  The workshop was supervised by Professor Mohammad Asia, Vice President for the Ramallah Campus.

The workshop aimed to improve the skills of academicians at the University for bachelor’s and postgraduate degrees. It also aimed to prepare them to use modern methods in education, evaluate student performance and employ technology in education. This is to reach high-quality educational outcomes in all programs offered by the University.

AAUP Holds a Training Workshop for Public Relations Employees in Local Authorities

The Faculty of Modern Media at the Arab American University in Ramallah has held a training workshop targeting employees of public relations departments in local authorities titled “Public Relations in Local Government Institutions: Towards Effective Communication with the Public.”

More than fifty representatives of public relations departments in municipalities and local councils from Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Jenin, and Qalqilya participated in the workshop.

The meeting was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for Ramallah Campus. He stressed the importance of strengthening the integrated relationship between the University and local authorities. Dr. Asia also stressed the vital role played by local authorities in serving the community and promoting positive communication.

The Conflict Studies Research Center at the Arab American University Holds a Training Workshop for Graduate Students

The Conflict Studies Research Center at the Arab American University in Ramallah has held a training workshop on writing research papers, in which a group of students from the Faculty of Graduate Studies participated. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Nahid Habiballah in cooperation with Dr. Lana Shehadeh.

This workshop is the beginning of a series of seminars and training workshops that the Center plans to hold in the near future.

An Intensive Training Program for Bachelor of Financial Engineering Students at the Arab Bank Training Center

In confirmation of Arab American University's commitment to enhancing students' skills and experiences in their specialization and in partnership with the Arab Bank, fourteen students from the Bachelor of Financial Engineering in the Faculty of Data Science will begin an intensive training program at the Arab Bank's training center next week.

The program aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully integrate into the financial and banking labor market and to link the academic aspect with a set of practical and applied skills.

The program, which lasts for a month, includes two stages; in the first stage, students will participate in five intensive training courses covering a wide range of topics, including products and services of the macro, micro and medium businesses sector as well as products and services of the individual banking sector focusing on digital transformation.

The Faculty of Data Science Holds a Lecture Given to Its Students by Mr. Murad Al Jadba, Director General of the General Department of Securities at the Capital Market Authority

The Faculty of Data Science at the Arab American University in Ramallah has held a lecture titled “The Palestinian Financial Market: Exploring Horizons in Financial Derivatives and Foreign Exchange Trading,” given by Mr. Murad Al Jadba, Director General of the General Department of Securities at the Capital Market Authority, within the framework of enhancing students’ understanding of the Palestinian financial market.

The lecture focused on multiple topics. The most important of which were the current situation of the Palestinian financial market, the feasibility of introducing derivatives on the Palestine Stock Exchange and the restrictions associated with it.

The lecture was effective and inspiring for the students of the Faculty of Data Science, as it contributed to enhancing their understanding of the Palestinian financial market, exploring new horizons in the market in addition to enhancing their understanding of financial derivatives and foreign exchange trading.

AAUP First-Year Medical Students Present Medical Issues from a Physical and Medical Perspective

A group of first-year medical students at the Arab American University - Ramallah Campus presented various medical problems from a physical and medical perspective, as part of the medical physics course with Dr. Sufyan Shehadeh, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Modern Sciences.

The event took place in the presence of Dr. Feras Abujaber, Assistant to the Academic Vice President for the Ramallah Campus, Dr. Sondos Shalabi, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Medicine on Ramallah Campus, Dr. Thabat Al-Khatib, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Modern Sciences, and Lecturer in the Physics Department, Ms. Walaa Ghannam in addition to a number of students. .

The Arab American University, ALECSO and the Palestinian National Commission for Education and Culture Sign a Partnership Agreement for Digital Transformation within Arab Universities

The founder Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab American University in Palestine, Dr. Yousef Asfour, the Director General of ALECSO, Professor Dr. Mohammad Wild Omar, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, and the Chairman of the Executive Council of ISESCO, Dr. Dawwas Dawwas, signed a partnership agreement to unify and enhance digital transformation efforts in Arab universities.

This came on the margins of the activities of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Forum for Business and Partnerships, which the organization held in its first edition in Tunisia. The State of Palestine participated in the presence of various academic and scientific Arab institutions and universities.
