The Internationally Refereed Scientific Journal Vaccines Publishes a Research by the Arab American University on the Spread of the Corona Virus Antibodies

The internationally refereed scientific journal Vaccines, which is classified as Q1 with an impact factor of 5, published a research by researchers from the Arab American University on the prevalence of coronavirus antibodies and the factors affecting them among adults in the West Bank.

The researchers from the university, Dr. Faisal Awartani (as a main author), Dr. Nawar Qutub, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, cooperated to publish the research on the prevalence of antibodies to the Corona virus in the Palestinian society and the factors affecting it in the internationally refereed journal Vaccines.

The Arab American University and the Scholar Institute for Research and Studies in Iraq Conclude the Fourth International Conference

The Arab American University and the Scholar Institute for Research and Studies in Iraq concluded the fourth international conference entitled "Modern Trends in International Relations, Media, and Social and Educational Sciences", which was organized in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Turkey, over two days.

The director of the conference, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, the Vice President of the Arab American University for Academic Affairs, said that more than 130 researchers in various disciplines participated in the conference, representing twenty Arab, Islamic and international countries. He indicated that the conference focused on several topics, most notably law, international relations, historical studies, Management, economics, social studies, linguistic, and literary studies.

The University and the French University of Lille Are Studying the Effect of Extracts of Middle Eastern Plants in the Treatment of Diabetic Patients

The Faculty of Sciences at the Arab American University received a delegation from the Crystal Institute for Biocomputing affiliated to the University of Lille in France, within the framework of Al Maqdisi Scholarship. The two teams are studying the effect of extracts extracted from Middle Eastern medicinal plants in the treatment of diabetic patients, and working on central proteins in this context.

The delegation of the French University of Lille included the president of the institution, Prof. Dr. Cedric Al-Husseini, and Dr. Joachim Nairn, who were received by the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Dr. Siba Shanak, Prof. Dr. Hilal Zaid, from the Faculty of Medicine, and laboratory technicians in the Faculties of Sciences and Medicine.

AAUP Master Student Wins the 2nd Place in the Islamic Palestinian Bank Award for Scientific Research

Nael Abed Aljabar Zaidan, a researcher and  computer science student at The Arab American University, won the second place in the Islamic Palestinian Bank Award for scientific research for the year 2021-2022.

During a celebration that was organized by the ministry of higher education and scientific research, and the Islamic Palestinian Bank at the national institute for educational training,  it was announced that the researcher won second place and he received a reward in the presence of The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mowais and the director of the Islamic Palestinian Bank Dr. Emad Alsadi.

AAUP Signs an Agreement with the Preventive Security to Develop Capabilities and Offer Scholarships

Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President and the Major General Abdulqader Taamari- the General Director of the Preventive Security signed a cooperation agreement in the field of establishing research section of experts and specialists, develop capabilities, measure performance and analyze the data provided to citizens in addition to offer scholarships to the staff of the preventive security device in the graduate studies strategic programs.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, Eng. Bara Asfour- the Assistant to the President, Dr. Faisal Awartanni- the CEO of the university Center for Research and Poll, Brigadier Okroma Thabit- the Assistant to the general manager of the Preventive Security for Public Relations and Media, Brigadier Hijazi Jaabari- the Assistant to the general manager of the Preventive Security for training, and Colonel Nahil Azer- the Public Relations Manager.

Prof Bashar Saad

Stanford University announced that Scientist Bashar Saad- a lecturer in Arab American University was chosen among only 2% of a list of best scientists in the world for the year 2021 for his distinguish and excellent scientific researchers. This classification is considered one of the most famous around the world and it depends on bibliometric information (that uses statistics methods and mathematics to analyze documents’ data0 that is listed in Scopus database.

Prof. Bashar Saad has a good reputation in the scientific fields around the world and he has a special presence with his researches, lectures and scientific books in the international scientific platforms. Prof. Saad spent almost 20 years in the esteemed Switzerland universities where he got his PhD in Biochemistry and started his career life as a post-PhD in Neuroscience in ETH Institute. He was assigned as a lecturer and a researcher in the same institute in the field of the new methods in testing toxicity and then an assistant professor of Tissue Engineering.

Two Students Win in the National Competition of the Scientific Research for the Researcher University Student

Mohammad Qabha and Nour Junaidi won in the National Competition of the scientific research for the Researcher University Student that was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the second year.

The competition encourages university students to conduct scientific researches and continue their activities and research initiatives in order to encourage the scientific research culture and this contributes in increasing the quality of researches in Palestine and reaches the sustainable development in the research sector.

AAUP Journal of Research Wins the First and Second Places in the Arab Impact Factor Ranking for the Year 2021

The Arab American University Journal of Research got the first place over the 30 other Palestinian journals, and the second place between the other 465 journal who participated from all over the Arab world in the Arab Impact Factor ranking for the year 2021. AAUP got an impact factor of 3.5 which is an achievement to the university and to Palestine.

The “Arab Impact Factor” is considered to be a measure of the importance of the scientific journals as it measures the quality, the strength and originality of the Arab journals of all fields. This factor is the reference for the scientific journals within their field of research.

75.9% of Palestinians living in  in the West Bank aged 18 years or older have developed antibodies against Covid-19,  according to a recent study conducted by Arab American university studies and polling center in collaboration with the PCBS

In continuation of the studies conducted by the Arab American University aimed at capturing the rapidly changing COVID- 19 pandemic,  the Arab American University Center For Studies and Polling in collaboration with the Palestinian Center Bureau of Statistics conducted a  national seroprevalence sample survey targeting adult Palestinians who are over the age of 18 years and living in the West Bank. The survey aimed at measuring the prevalence of antibodies developed in response to Covid-19 virus among Palestinian adults.
