Haplotype Analysis and Genetic Diversity of Echinococcus granulosus Using Whole Genome Sequencing: A pilot study in Human and Livestock Hosts

الملخص:

The project starts with collecting 5-10 hydatid cysts, half from hospitalized patients and the other half from livestock (sheep and goats). The DNA will be extracted from the cysts and PCR conducted to confirm diagnosis.  The PCR products from the previous step will be tagged in a process called Library preparation. This process includes DNA fragmentation into small pieces and adopters added to these small sequences from both ends amplified and cleaned. Then, the clean library of these small tagged DNA sequences will be sequenced and assembled into whole genome (151.6Mb) using a software in a process call ‘base call’. The whole genome will be deposited into the GenBank. The sequences will be analyzed for genetic diversity and haplotype networking compared with genomes from other endemic countries in the world.
