Essentials of Investments

This course is an introduction to the fundamental principles of investment management. Topics covered include an overview of asset classes and financial instruments, portfolio theory, the capital asset pricing model, the efficient market hypothesis, valuation of equities, fixed income securities and derivatives as well as international investing and diversification. Special emphasis will be placed on risk and return analysis across different securities.
