A Team of Researchers from AAUP Qualified for the Final Stage of the "Medst@rts" Project Funded by the EU

A team of researchers from the Occupational Therapy Department- the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in Arab American University was qualified to the final stage of the project “Medst@rts” that is funded by the European Union, as the project “Pediatric OTMobile App” was chosen among the best projects for developing smart phones with a 10 thousand Euro award.

The idea of this project was developed among Mr. Mohammad Salahat, Mr. Majdi Bzour, Mr. Wisam Hanouneh and student Amneh Hasan, and was supervised by Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence.

The honoring ceremony of the faculties of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences in AAUP

Both the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in AAUP have honored their faculty and staff members for their dedication and hard work that resulted in many achievements including the Faculty of Nursing winning the Distinguish Institution Award 2019.

Prof. Mohammad Asia – the Assistant to the President for the Medical Schools Affairs and the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and Dr. Imad Abu Khader- the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing attended the ceremony.

AAUP is the First Palestinian University to Provide TLD Device to Measure X-Ray Dose During Training

AAUP was the first Palestinian university to provide the TLD device among its philosophy to build a safe training environment for its student, as the Radiography Department in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in AAUP has provided this device in order to measure the X-Ray dose that students are exposed to during the practical training.

The Thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) is a device to measure the X-Ray doses that individuals either Medical Imaging Technicians or students in their practical training can be exposed to. TLD work depends on measuring the ionizing radiation by measuring the intensity of the visible light that comes from Calcium Fluoride and Lithium Fluoride crystals when being heated.
