The “UNITED NATIONS” Rewards the University Team That Won the First Place in the Competition to Combat Desertification in the Arab Region

The UNITED NATIONS Organization rewarded the Arab American University team, which won at the level of the Arab world, in the competition to combat desertification and mitigate drought in the Arab region, at a conference held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The winner team included students from the Faculties of Engineering and Arts, who are (Saed Hanani, Laith Nazzal, Ahmed Asaad, Yazan Hamad, Anwar Ghannam).

The conference aims to raise the awareness of young men and women in the Arab region about the impact of desertification and drought on their lives. It also discusses the roles they can play in mitigating the impact of these two challenges on the region.

The University Wins First Place at the Level of the Arab World in the Competition to Combat Desertification and Mitigate Drought

The Arab American University won at the level of the Arab world the competition to combat desertification and mitigate drought in the Arab region. The competition was organized by the United Nations Esco Organization. The university was represented by the students, “Saed Hanani, Laith Nazzal, Anwar Ghannam, Ahmed Asaad, and Yazan Hamad”, who are from the Faculties of Engineering and Arts.

The competition, in which the Arab American University team participated, has several goals, most notably, raising youth awareness and enhancing their role in combating desertification.

The University and the European Union Organize the "Quiz Night" Competition

The Arab American University organized the "Quiz Night" competition, in cooperation with the European Union, within the "You are the Ambassador" program, in which a number of university students participated in an interactive and educational atmosphere.

The competition was inaugurated by the public relations employee at the university, Ms. Samah Dawahdi, with a speech in which she welcomed the attendees, and emphasized the importance of promoting extracurricular activities, which is a strategy followed by the university with the aim of refining the student's behavior. She extended thanks to those in charge of the competition and its organization on the university campus.
