Arab American University announced the beginning of the activities of IEEEXtreme Programming Competition as around 60 students from the Faculty of Engineering and IT participated in the 24-hours competition.

Dr. Hazim Khanfar – the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology started the activities by welcoming the audience and the participants of this competition and thanked everyone worked to prepare this activity from AAUP administration and staff, foothill Company and Hassib Sabbagh IT Center for Excellence.

AAUP Participates in the Research Competition “Naher Haya” and Wins the Second Place

Arab American University participated in “Naher Haya” research contest with Reform Institution that all the Palestinian universities participated in as well. The aim of this project is to build students’ capabilities in research, depth analysis, developing knowledge and scientific skills and using scientific research tools.

AAUP won the second place between all other participated Palestinian universities in the research of student Asma Hussam Rabayaa entitled “Youth Refugees between Alienation and Community Participation” and the research of student Sadi Ajaj in his research “The role of the popular committees in promoting civil peace in light of the weak legal jurisdiction in the camps” under supervision of Dr. Layla Herzallah.

Hassib Sabbagh Center in AAUP and the Faculty of Engineering and IT Organize a Workshop about the Best Idea of a Technological Application in the Health Field “DocTech”

Hassib Sabbagh Center and under collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Al Israa Programming Company, Spark Technical Consultancy and Professional Training Company and the IEEE have organized a workshop about the DocTech competition, which is a local competition available for all AAUP students to participate in and it aims to raise awareness in the local community about the importance of supporting the creative and pioneer projects.

Eng. Ahmad Fouad- the Director of Hassib Sabbagh Center opened the workshop by welcoming the guests, he then talked about the information technology role and its applications in developing the medical and health sector. Eng. Muhannad Hejawi- the General Manager of Spark presented some examples and practical experiments of how to connect the medical projects with technology. Mr.
