AAUP Starts the Preparations for Students to Participate in a Training Course in a German University

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in Arab American University started the preparations for selecting 9 students to participate in a training course about Reconciliation and Conflict Resolution that will be organized in Friedrich-Schiller-Universität (Jena) for a week, from 27 Feb 2022 until 4 March 2022.

This training is part of the Center’s project in “enhancing the national research capabilities in the reconciliation and conflict resolution field” that is funded by the EU. This project is also part of the vision of the center that was established on 2017 to be the first of its kind in the Arab region that enhances and supports the researches and studies in the conflict resolution and reconciliation, and the intercultural communication. The center keens to provide the academic scientific knowledge and practical skills in the mentioned fields.

The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Meets Students of AAUP

Mr. Tor Wennesland- the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process met the Post-Graduate students of Arab American University – Ramallah Campus, who are studying in the programs of PhD in Conflict Resolutions and Master in International Law and Diplomacy.

The meeting was entitled “The role of the United Nations on the peace process: between the final status files and the exit strategy from the current situation”. This meeting came as part of the Diplomacy course that Dr. Dalal Iriqat teaches in the Faculty of Graduate Studies in AAUP.

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in AAUP Concludes the Activities of its 2021 Annual Conference Entitled "The Age of Populism"

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center in AAUP concluded the activities of its 2021 Annual Conference entitled “The Age of Populism” that was held with the participation of some local, Arab and international intellectuals and academics. Some of the main speakers in the conference were Dr. Carlos de La Tour, Prof. Andrew Arato, Prof. Jane Cohen, Prof. Nadia Urbinati, Prof. Mohammad Abu Nemr, Prof, Khalid Hroub, Dr. Nahed Habiballah, Dr. Omar Ghazzi, Dr. Hasan Obaid and Dr. Abedrabbo Anzi.

In his opening speech for the “The Age of Populism” Conference, Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President talked about the importance of populism especially “under the global decline of traditional democratic political forces” and he said that this conference “comes in line with AAUP’s philosophy and its future vision that is based on positive interaction with research developments in the social and natural sciences”.
