A Jerusalemite Delegation Visits AAUP in Ramallah

The founder Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab American University, Dr. Yousef Asfour, received a Jerusalemite delegation in the city of Ramallah to thank the University for the scholarships it provided to Jerusalem students.

The Jerusalemite delegation included the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi, the Deputy Governor of Jerusalem, Dr. Abdullah Siam, the Advisor to the Governor of Jerusalem, Marouf Al-Rifai, the Vice President of Hilal Al-Quds Club Awad Al-Salaimeh, and the President of the Prisoner Club in Jerusalem, Nasser Qus. At the reception, Dr. Asfour was accompanied by the general manager of the University Company, Mr. Faleh Abu Arra.

AAUP Offers Bachelor's Degree Scholarships in Support of Jerusalemite Students

The Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Bara Asfour, with the presence of the General Manager of the Arab American University Company, Mr. Faleh Abu Arra, the Dean of the faculty of Graduate Studies, Dr. Nouar Qutob, the Dean of the faculty of Data Sciences, Dr. Majdi Owda, the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Sciences, Dr. Islam Amro, and Mr. Qais Obaid, received from The Communication Office, and Mr.

During the meeting, after praising the steadfastness of the Jerusalemite youth, the university announced allocation of 50% scholarships to obtain a bachelor’s degree for Jerusalem students in schools of the Directorate of Education in Jerusalem, the Directorate of Jerusalem Suburbs, endowment schools, and private schools in Jerusalem. These scholarships are offered for a set of distinct and unique specializations on the university campus in Ramallah.

Dr. Nahed Habib Allah

Dr. Nahed Habib Allah a Professor in sociology at the Faculty of Graduate School - Arab American University, received an invitation from New School University in New York City to teach a course about Jerusalem as an expert in this field. This is considered to be the first time to teach such a course in an American university.

Dr. Nahed said that this course gives students a complete idea about the Holy City as it’s the center of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in its various national and religious dimensions. The course will discuss in details how the lives of the people of Jerusalem were affected by the Israeli occupation policies, and covers the period of mandate and the Palestinian national movements that emerged and developed during that period of the 1948 war until the joining part of Jerusalem to the State of Israel, as it will cover the occupation and joining all Jerusalem city in 1967. "
