Student Wahaj Bani Mufleh’s Work Displayed at a Photo Exhibition on the Palestinian Case in France

Wahaj Bani Mufleh, a student at the Faculty of Modern Media at the Arab American University, participated in an exhibition in Paris organized by French photographer Josy Draay entitled “Palestine: Resistance, Dignity, Solidarity.”

The exhibition included 20 carefully selected photographs of Beni Mufleh from multiple areas in Palestine, including Jenin and its camp, Nablus and its camps, and the town of Beita. The photographs were displayed alongside works by photographer Attia Darwish from the Gaza Strip.

The exhibition aims to shed light on the reality in Palestine and highlight the names of distinguished Palestinian photographers in the field of photojournalism. The exhibition was visited by more than 2,000 people interested in photography and the Palestinian case, in addition to a number of prominent figures.

Part of the "Digital Security" Conference

The Faculty of Modern Media at the Arab American University, in partnership with Hamla, the Arab Centre for the Development of Social Media, organized a conference about digital security under the title "Privacy in the Age of Surveillance". The conference was attended by male and female academics from Media Faculties in six Palestinian universities, in addition to male and female journalists, experts, specialists, and female specialists in digital media. The conference was held on the university campus in the city of Ramallah.

The activities of the conference were inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Media at the University, Dr. Hanadi Dwikat. In her statement, she welcomed the attendees. She referred to the importance of the topic of the conference, which includes a group of Palestinian Universities and Media Departments. She also appreciated the partnership with the Hamla Centre, considering that this partnership was built on hard work, planning, thinking, and working as one team.

AAUP displays a play called "A'la Al Dawar" for the Palestinian artist Alaa Shihada

The Arab American University, Ramallah campus, a play called “A’la Al Dawar”, for the Palestinian artist Alaa Shihada.

Mr. Mohammad Sabaneh, vice dean of the faculty of modern sciences, indicated that AAUP is preparing a variety of activities for its students so they can have the needed skills. He also alluded that the display of the play is the first step in this long path.

The play is a 55 minutes’ monodrama (one actor), that shows the main daily issues that Palestinian citizens suffer from and highlights the life of those who live in villages because of the traditional lifestyle and the common concepts about villages.
