An AAUP Academician Participates in a Scientific Symposium on “Journalism During War” in Morocco

The Arab American University has participated in a scientific symposium on the reality of the work of journalism and journalists at times of crises and wars in Morocco.

The scientific symposium was organized by the “Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency” in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, on the sidelines of the distribution of awards for the second session of the “Al-Quds Al-Sharif Award for Journalistic Excellence in Development Media,” which went under the name of the late Moroccan journalist Mohamed Al Agdhaf Al Dah.

AAUP Participates in the Twenty-Eighth Forum to Exchange Training Offers for Students of Arab Universities

The Arab American University participated in the twenty-eighth forum to exchange training offers for students of Arab universities, represented by its Dean, Dr. Bashar Draghmah, which was held in Casablanca from 1 to 5 May, 2023.

The opening ceremony of the forum, which was held at the Faculty of Legal and Economic Sciences at Hassan II University, was attended by His Excellency the Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, and the Director of the Arab Council, Professor Fawaz Al-Zghoul. Sixty universities from ten Arab countries participated in the forum.

It is noteworthy to mention that the Arab American University obtained more than (35) training opportunities at Arab universities. AAUP, moreover, granted (35) training opportunities to Arab universities.

Dr. Saba’ Jarrar during her participation as Palestine’s representative in the Drassa Annual Forum for Sports Sciences

Dr. Saba’ Jarrar from the Department of Sports Science at the Arab American University, participated as Palestine representative in the annual Drassa Forum of sports sciences, held in Casablanca, Morocco recently in partnership with the Association of Moroccan Journalists. As a keynote speaker at a forum on “Sport as a Soft-Tool to Improve and Achieve Sustainable Development,” (Drassa: A Research and Development Academy for the UAE Sports Science Activities)

Dr. Jarrar mentioned the UN resolutions that emerged and evolved from the international organizations on sustainable development and social responsibility since 1989, embodied in the eight UN goals of the 2000 Plan. Thus developing the seventeen objectives adopted in 2015 for their 2030 Sustainable Development Plan and the United Nations role by announcing sport as a tool for community development and peacemaking through a 2016 decision that said it is a mean to achieve 2030 sustainable development goals.
