Defense of a Master’s Thesis by Heba Al Ghoul in the Contemporary Public Relations Program

Researcher Heba Jihad Al Ghoul, a student in the Master’s program in Contemporary Public Relations, had defended her thesis titled “Sports Communication and the Palestinian National Reputation on Twitter during the Qatar World Cup 2022.”

This study aimed to explore the interactive relationship between communication and the field of sports as well as their contribution to enhancing the national reputation and highlighting the Palestinian identity during the Qatar 2022 World Cup. It also aimed to analyze tweets that highlighted the Palestinian case in English language on Twitter during that period.

Defense of a Master’s Thesis by Maysa Omar in the Contemporary Public Relations Program

Researcher Maysa Amjad Omar, a student in the Master’s program in Contemporary Public Relations, has defended her thesis titled “The Digital Communicative Response of the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Facebook in Light of the Crises it Experienced in 2022 and 2023.”

This study aimed to magnify the understanding of the communicative response of public relations at the Palestinian Ministry of Health during the period of 2022/2023, according to the situational theories of crisis communication, reputation restoration, and apology.

AAUP Holds a Training Workshop for Public Relations Employees in Local Authorities

The Faculty of Modern Media at the Arab American University in Ramallah has held a training workshop targeting employees of public relations departments in local authorities titled “Public Relations in Local Government Institutions: Towards Effective Communication with the Public.”

More than fifty representatives of public relations departments in municipalities and local councils from Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Jenin, and Qalqilya participated in the workshop.

The meeting was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for Ramallah Campus. He stressed the importance of strengthening the integrated relationship between the University and local authorities. Dr. Asia also stressed the vital role played by local authorities in serving the community and promoting positive communication.
