AAUP and Shenandoah University Deliver a Joint Lecture on the Ethics and Values as One of the Pillars of Work within a Multidisciplinary Team

The Department of Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at the Arab American University, in cooperation with a specialist from the Department of Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University, delivered a lecture entitled "Ethics and Values as One of the Pillars of Work within a Multidisciplinary Team", targeting students of occupational therapy, prosthetics, speech and hearing, and bridging nursing.

Mohamed Salahat, a lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Arab American University, and Dr. Mitchell Wiley from the Department of Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University delivered a lecture. This lecture comes within the ongoing partnership project between the two universities, within the COIL program, which aims to exchange experiences between academics and students from both universities.

Researcher Azhar Abdelkarim Hamdan, a computer science student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her master thesis entitled “The use of GIS based on decision support to manage water distribution networks – Nablus city as Case Study”.

She addressed the use of GIS and hydraulic analysis systems to build an intelligent system capable of connecting all components of the water network and finding water losses. The researcher recommended building accurate geographic water networks databases to enable it to intelligently save, display and manage data, leading to right decisions backed with science and accurate information.

The Arab American University has always seeks to improve to the newest academic programs, scientific research and everything serving students and local community. In response of the development and expansion at the faculties of Aliening Medical Sciences and Nursing and the desperate need to develop modern teaching methods, the university updated from traditional to electronic teaching tools in 19 classrooms and laboratory in the faculties.

Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and Nursing Dr. Mohamed Asia said “Since the beginning of the current academic year and with the support of the University Directors Board and its Presidency, the traditional educational methods have been updated. Handwriting and old whiteboards have been replaced with Smart boards”.
