Biography:
Dr. Abdelbaset Rabaiah has received a PhD in e-Government from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) with a Great Distinction standing. He is, currently, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the Arab American University.
Dr. Rabaiah has joined the Arab American University (AAU) in Jenin/West Bank since 2001 as a teaching and research assistant. He was awarded a BTC scholarship to pursue his graduate studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He graduated with great distinction and received a Master degree in Business Information Management in 2004. He then headed back home to work on a case study in the Palestinian Territories in 2005/2006. There, he joined the e-Government Project team. That team was responsible for laying out the strategy of e-Government and ICT at the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication Technology in Ramallah. He gained a hands-on experience of how things are managed at the strategic level. Dr. Rabaiah has produced the Arabic version of the Palestinian ICT Strategy.
In 2008, Dr. Rabaiah has joined the e-Practice community (e-Government, e-Health, and e-inclusion) which was created by the European Commission (www.ePractice.eu). He later established the Community of Researchers of E-Government within ePractice.eu. Dr. Rabaiah has participated in workshops organized by e-Practice and the Interoperable Delivery of European eGovernment Services to public Administrations, Businesses and Citizens (IDABC).
Dr. Rabaiah has published a number of papers in proceedings of some conferences and Journals dedicated to e-government. He has also co-authored a book in which he drew the connection between e-government and e-commerce in the Less Developed Countries.
A main objective of mine is to fulfill my research interested in the field of e-government. I am currently open for cooperation on different arenas:
