Overview

Education, as a social institution serving the needs of any society, therefore it is vital for any society to survive, progress and develop. It should not be only comprehensive, sustainable, and superb, but also continuous in its evolvement to meet the changes and challenges of the fast-changing and unpredictable globalized world. As a result, this evolution must be systemic, consistent, and measurable; therefore, the intended program serves the community, business, organizational leaders, trainers, educators, schoolteachers, principals, education supervisors, administrators, and policymakers to ensure quality preparation of all students to life and work.

The need for educational innovations has become acute. “It is widely believed that countries’ social and economic well-being will depend to an ever greater extent on the quality of their citizens’ education: the emergence of the so-called ‘knowledge society’, the transformation of information and the media, and increasing specialization on the part of organizations all call for high skill profiles and levels of knowledge. Today’s education systems are required to be both effective and efficient, or in other words, to reach the goals set for them while making the best use of available resources”.

Finally, this program is a multi-disciplinary program, not only in the field of education, but it has also other disciplines such as critical thinking and innovation, cross-cultural studies, citizenship, leadership, and more.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME

  • explain in-depth the knowledge of education;
  • apply theories and concepts in educational issues and applying them in real learning contexts.
  • apply specialized, professional skills in education; especially multimedia.
  • analyze critically and creatively on issues in education from different perspectives;
  • conduct education research in professional manner;
  • create and evaluate educational initiatives by reflecting upon multi-disciplinary approach to education.
  • Enable more thoughtful, intentional and informed leaders, willing and able to implement and study continuous improvement.
  • Develop the way students think and work as leaders in education, for the immediate and local benefit of school children, adult learners, schools or organizations, and local communities.

Innovation in Education master´s program is all about improving the most significant matter in any society– education. In addition, doing it not according to some inner feeling, but based on evidence and research.

Education is the foundation of almost everything; it could be citizenship, economy or governance.

Professionals with a Master’s in Innovation in Education have several career paths to choose from including:

  1. Learning Innovation Designer is an emerging type of instructional designer with an emphasis on designing learning innovation from a student perspective. The role can be performed in partnership with students, businesses or other educators. The design a process that can focus on building apps, developing curriculum, exploring new pedagogies, creating new educational content, as well as building out innovative learning horizons—both virtual and place-based.
  2. Learning Innovation Leader is often someone who started as a teacher or designer and is now ready to assume a leadership role managing or directing teams, projects and/or organizations involved in educational innovation. Sample job titles in this category can include Director of Academic Innovation & Technology at a university or a school, Manager of Innovation at a local maker space,
