Master in Data Science and Public Health

Overview

The Importance of Public Health Data Science 

  1. The program will open horizons for the students to analyze the current structure and come up with a developed healthcare system. 
  2. Students will implement and apply models that include different methods to measure and improve the current quality level in the healthcare sector   such as developing medical facilities and equipment to satisfy the patients. Also, they will implement the patient safety theories. 
  3. Students will be equipped with tools and skills to manage and analyses very large diverse datasets across healthcare systems.
  4. Students will be leading health data scientists, to work in both the public and private sector. As the program  will focus on building strong quantitative, computational and practical data management skills, while providing opportunities to develop key professional skills required to be a successful health data scientist.

 

Goals

  • This program aims to enable students to manage and analyze massive data sets and learn how to interpret their findings. Through learning about three principal of health data science: statistics, computing, and health sciences. 
  • The program aims to provide students with rigorous quantitative knowledge in statistical and computational skills needed to manage, analyze, and learn from health data. 
  • Students will learn to scrape, create, and manage large health-related datasets; summarize, visualize, and interpret data.
  • Student will be able to apply statistical methods to draw conclusions from the data; use machine learning to reveal features of large, complex health-related datasets.

  2. Understand the importance behind the requirements for quality management and improvement of health care systems.
  3. Learn the techniques for health care and the needed principles of quality improvement  and management.
