The Arab American University, represented by the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Bara Asfour, and Asal Technology Company, represented by its General Manager, Mr. Murad Tahboub, signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement aims at exchanging experiences and benefiting from the company, and building a strategic relationship, through which Asal Company will open a branch on AAUP campus in Jenin.
The agreement includes building a strategic relationship and joint cooperation, exchanging experiences. To facilitate this, Asal Technology Company opens a branch of on the Arab American University to create a distinguished model based on the integration of the role of the Palestinian private sector with educational institutions in the field of programming and information technology sector in Palestine in addition to joint work to integrate students and graduates of the university into a qualitative work environment. The agreement aims also to engage the graduates in various training and employment projects as well as the programs offered by Asal Technology to find and enable experienced and technically qualified Palestinian programmers to implement software solutions, information and communication technology, research and development.
The signing of the agreement was preceded by a meeting between the President of the Arab American University, Prof. Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, and the company’s delegation headed by the General Manager of Asal Technology Company, Mr. Murad Tahboub. The meeting was attended also by the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Bara Asfour, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Hazem Khanfar, dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Muhammad Marei, director of the Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence, Dr. Mays Awwad, and the Assistant Professor in the Faculties of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Moath Sabha.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri, welcomed the attendees, and stressed the importance of cooperation with the Asal Technology Company, which will open new horizons. He welcomed the opening of a branch of the company on the university campus, and gave a full explanation about the University, its establishment, and the academic programs offered in doctoral, master’s bachelor degrees.
For his part, the General Manager of Asal Technology Company, Mr. Murad Tahboub, expressed his happiness for the cooperation with the university, and pointed out that the company's mission is to raise the level of technology in Palestine, and support technological and digital innovations towards an international level. He states that this will only happen in cooperation with the Arab American University to achieve the ambitions and goals pursued by the company.
In turn, the Vice President of the University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Bara Asfour, emphasized that the university is heading towards technology and leadership and its motto is always excellence, He explained that there are common goals between the university and the company to achieve and herein lies the importance of signing the agreement between the two parties.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Asfour and Mr. Tahboub cut the ribbon for the inauguration of the branch of the Asal Technology Company in the building of the Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence at the Arab American University.
