AAUP and Al-Noukhba Medical Services and Consultation Co. for “MEDICARE LABS” signed a joint collaboration agreement in the fields of training and health research, at AAUP campus in Ramallah.

The agreement was signed by the President of Arab American University, Prof. Ali Zaidan Abu Zuhri, and the chairman of Al-Noukhba Medical Services and Consulting Company (Medicare Labs) Dr. Bashar Adnan Al-Karmi.

The agreement signed between the two parties will focus on enhancing joint cooperation, as it will accredit the university labs and staff to conduct laboratory tests through a list of tests and prices agreed upon between the two parties with the provision of all necessary data to conduct each examination. The agreement will also work on health research and data exchange for patients for the purposes of scientific research while preserving the privacy of patients. The two parties will also work on providing advanced testing services in the field of genetic and histological examinations, and training labs technicians of both parties and students of the Medical Analysis Dept at University in Medicare laboratories.

The two parties also agreed on accommodating AAUP graduates to work in Medicare labs, and expand and enhance the knowledge of modern laboratory applications, especially in the field of molecular genetics through seminars and joint scientific workshops for medical and health staff.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri and Dr. Al-Karmi stressed the importance of the agreement in enhancing cooperation between the university and Medicare laboratories, in order to exchange experiences, conduct joint research in many medical fields, in addition to training students and raising their competence and skills, and provide the best services to citizens.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of AAUP Dr. Yousef Asfour, welcomed the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Noukhba Medical Services and Consultations (Medicare Labs), Dr. Bashar Adnan Al-Karmi. As he assured the readiness of the university's to equip its labs with the latest equipment and international medical technology, and to strengthen their partnership and cooperation with academic institutions and applied service institutions to develop health sector and serve Palestinian citizens.

AAUP aims to raise the quality of services with the supervision of specialists and researchers in various fields of health sector. Where the university opened clinical labs that provides diagnostic laboratory tests and genetic tests for all citizens, in addition to Anatomic Pathology laboratories.
