The Arab American University has held a training course for Local Government and authorities’ employees titled "Management and Strategic Planning in Response to Risks".  

Dr. Laila Herzallah, Assistant to the President of the University for Community Affairs, highlighted the AAUP's endeavors to provide the local community with competencies and experience, which in turn contribute to sustainable development and empower the employees with scientific and practical skills and capabilities. The training course was held following the University's visit to the Local Government in order to identify the needs of employees. 

The course included several topics such as "The Strategy of Management and Planning in cases of Crises and Disasters", and presented by Prof. Dr. Ayman Youssef who addressed the most important strategies that should be adopted by the employees of institutions in order to avoid risks and crises which impede the community work. Mr. Bilal Al-Ashqar also addressed the ability of employees to build a strategic plan, exploit the opportunities as well as the elements of strategic plan. Furthermore, Dr. Said Abu Mualla presented a topic about "The Strategic Communications and Public Relations". Dr. Faisal Sabbah, the Director of Continuing Education Center, "The Importance of Building the Capacities of Employees in Response to Risks".        

At the end of the training course, participants have been graduated and granted certificates by the University.
