A delegation from the Arab American University has visited the Bethlehem Hospital for Mental and Psychiatric Diseases to open new horizons for mutual work with the aim of training AAUP students at the hospital.

The University delegation included the Assistant President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herazallah, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Lubna Harazneh, and the academic and technical staff at the Faculty of Nursing.

The University delegation was received by the Director of Nursing at the hospital, Mr. Ayman Al-Najjar, a number of ward heads at the hospital, and trainers from the Faculty of Nursing at the hospital.

The two parties discussed the obstacles and difficulties facing student training to find effective solutions to reduce them and facilitate matters for students as much as possible to ensure increased quality of training.

For her part, Dr. Laila Herazallah, Assistant President for Community Affairs, praised the role played by the hospital administration in accommodating University students and training them at a high level, explaining that AAUP is ready to receive any proposals and development ideas with the aim of improving the quality of training and building multiple partnerships with various national and community institutions.

In turn, the Director of Nursing at Bethlehem Hospital, Mr. Ayman Al-Najjar, welcomed the University delegation, and pointed out that AAUP is making great efforts to provide all the capabilities and technologies to train its students and empower them in their fields, and expressed the hospital’s readiness to enhance further cooperation and partnership with the Faculty of Nursing at the Arab American University in various fields.

The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Lubna Harazneh, said, "The Faculty of Nursing, with all its staff, seeks to hold and develop various training programs for the Faculty students on an ongoing and periodic basis, and to keep pace with the changes and circumstances that occur in our current reality in all our different hospitals, including the only mental and psychological hospital, which is making great efforts to provide an excellent training environment for our students.

"We, as a Faculty, look forward to advancing and improving the level of our students in all fields, especially in the area of ​​mental health, because the current difficult circumstances make psychological disorders, fear and tension accompany a large segment of our people, and arming our students with the skills to deal with these cases is a national and humanitarian mission", she added.

This visit comes within a series of visits made by the Faculty of Nursing to the hospitals of the country where nursing students train, to learn about the aspirations of the hospitals and take the feedback and recommendations provided by the hospital to the faculty in order to reach the highest level of competencies, knowledge and practice for students that enhance their skills in their specialization.
