The Arab American University has held a free medical day at the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Jaba' and the surrounding area. The medical day included many health services provided to visitors, including an orthopedic clinic, an internal medicine clinic, a pediatric clinic, a gynecology clinic, a general medicine clinic, and a dental clinic.

The medical relief team, the Bible Society, the Jerusalem Pharmaceuticals Company, and Sama Pharmaceuticals Company participated in the medical day's activities.

The Arab American University team was received by Mr. Mohammad Baddad, Head of of Jaba' Municipality, Mr. Arafat Al-Fakhouri, Head of the Red Crescent Society, Jaba' Branch, members of the administrative body, representatives of the town's institutions, and Mr. Jawad Khaliliyeh, Secretary of the Fatah Movement. The Head of the Municipality welcomed the University's medical staff and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the University administration for their efforts and medical, humanitarian and scientific contributions to the country. The delegation was accompanied by the University President's Assistant for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, who conveyed the greetings of the Acting President of the University, Dr. Bara Asfour, stressing that AAUP is part of the community and that its message and vision seek to strengthen the relationship, develop the community and provide services to citizens in light of the circumstances the country is going through. The University transfers the expertise of its doctors and students to the local community, appreciating the role of the University administration in this continuous endeavor with the community.

The free medical day focused on providing various and specialized health services to the residents in addition to investigating disability cases and providing special services to people with disabilities in this area, which contributes to alleviating a small part of the daily suffering. The activity was attended by students from the University's Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Clinic.

Around (200) elderly people, men, women and children were examined, and the necessary medications were given to them, and some cases were transferred to complete treatment and medical follow-up.

In turn, the residents, the municipality of Jaba’, and the active institutions and committees in the region thanked the AAUP administration for its efforts in alleviating their suffering and providing them with the necessary health services in their region.

For its part, the Arab American University thanked all those who participated in the success of the medical day for their good cooperation in implementing it, and confirmed that since the beginning of the year it has been implementing free health and medical activities in different areas and marginalized areas that suffer from the practices of the occupation authorities and from repeated closures, and that it will continue to implement more diverse and free health activities and events in all marginalized and poor areas.
