Arab American University along with other Palestinian universities and Ministries took part in the training visit to Germany among the TVETCQ project which is one of Erasmus projects funded by the EU.

AAUP was represented by Dr. Moayad Abu Saa- the VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Amjad Ratrout- the Coordinator for TVETCQ in AAUP and Dr. Rasmyeh Anabtawi- the Faculty Member in the Faculty of Nursing.

The training was for the Palestinian universities and ministries which included: Arab American University, Al Quds University, the University College of Applied Sciences – Gaza, Palestine Polytechnic University, An Najah National University, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor.

The workshop was entitled “Projects to develop the occupational education and the special curriculums in the technical university education” and the workshop took place in University of Mannheim.

As part of the visit, by Dr. Moayad Abu Saa- the VP for Academic Affairs and Dr. Amjad Ratrout- the Coordinator for TVETCQ in AAUP had a meeting with Prof. Perizat Daglioglu- the University President of University of Mannheim, and her VP for International Relations and they discussed joint collaboration between the two universities and agreed to sign an MoU to start a joint graduate program, to encourage students mobility and participate in the smart cities project.

During a tour for the Palestinian delegation in Germany, they visited Mannheim municipality, and Dr. Amjad Ratrout was selected to represent the delegation before the Mayor. In his speech, Dr. Ratrout ensured on the importance of the relation between the Palestinian organizations and the German universities and talked about the technical and academic education in the Palestinian universities and emphasized on the importance to strengthen the relations between the Palestinian and German universities and centers.

During the training visit to Germany, Dr. Abu Saa visited “Forschungszentrum Jülich” the Julich Research Center to check on the PhD students who went on scholarships from Arab American University, and had a meeting with Dr. Ghalib Natour were they agreed to do some of the PhD dissertations in Physics for students and that it can be funded by the Palestinian-German Science Bridge.
